Weddings come in all sizes, shapes and forms depending on what the bride and groom prefer. While there are a number of factors that come into effect when selecting a wedding hall, you will want to consider how large of a wedding you desire. From there, you will be able to better judge what facility would be most appropriate.
To start, let’s highlight some wedding hall options for a large wedding. Banquet halls are always ideal as they are equipped to handle medium to large parties. Typically the banquet manager will provide services to help arrange catering and decorations. There will generally already be a bar and dance floor on site and it can ultimately simplify the overall process.
Another excellent option to consider is a hotel ballroom. With varying styles available, it allows for everyone to be satisfied. On-site lodging is a huge perk to having the wedding at a hotel ballroom as out-of-town guests can typically receive discounted rates. In addition, some hotels offer wedding package deals that can help save some money.
The final large wedding hall to consider is a country club. While this may be the most expensive option available, it does provide a gorgeous setting and an unforgettable experience. Similar to a hotel, many do provide package deals; it just may be a bit pricier. Just make sure you check into the quality of the food and service as well as the overall reputation of the country club.
If you are looking for a smaller wedding, outdoor weddings are ideal. Whether it is at a national park, in the mountains, on a ranch or beach, there are numerous locations to consider. It allows you to select an ideal setting that is romantic, beautiful and comfortable. The one tricky aspect to outdoor weddings is the weather as there is no controlling whether or not it rains or is too windy or too hot.
The most obvious option for a wedding hall is at a place of worship, such as a church, synagogue, or mosque. A lot of people like this because of the sacred environment and the generous price tag. It can also eliminate the need to travel from the ceremony to the reception. Just know that you will typically need to bring your own decorations and food.
The list of options for where to have a wedding hall is literally endless. Knowing how many people will be attending can help with the process as it will drastically narrow the options down.

Costa Rica is quickly becoming the #1 choice for destination weddings for many creative couples. Whether your dream setting is beach, a mountain top, or hanging from a ZipLine 100 feet above the floor of the rainforest, a destination wedding in Costa Rica will not disappoint.
This tiny Central American country has more variety of environments and desirable settings to offer than almost anyplace on earth. First there is such a wide range of micro climates such as the Rainforest, dry cool Cloudforest or choose from an oceanfront beach ceremony on not just one coast….but your choice of the waves of the vast and mighty Pacific Ocean or the white sand and turquoise waters of the Caribbean.
Yes, it’s true….one paradise, two oceans.
Many couples seek wild eco-adventure, some are looking for a casual atmosphere and warm weather year-round, some for terrific value in an exotic location…Costa Rica offers them all. The most common thread with most of these couples is to preserve some elements of cultural or religious tradition in their ceremony while still enjoying the exotic scenery, celebrating their raw, adventurous sides and creating one-of-a-kind memories for the whole group that weren’t just popped out of a mold in a factory like many typical weddings.
One very vibrant couple made this dream a reality while creatively combining centuries-old East Indian tradition with a spicy Latin twist.
This was no ordinary East Indian wedding.
The setting was Los Sueños Resort and Marina on the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.
This particular couple has a passion for a tropical environment and the sea so they also wanted a beachfront wedding. The question was…how do they achieve it all…all in one amazing place?
They really had an interesting mix of requirements and a travel planner in the U.S. recommended they consider Los Sueños, just a 2 hour drive from the capital city of San Jose (soon to be a 1 hour drive when the new national highway opens in early 2010)
The family knew they had some challenges ahead with such unique requirements and it would take a very special, dedicated team to pull off all the complicated and specialized details.
They visited the Los Suenos resort, met with the CR Luxury Wedding Coordinator, explained their requests and requirements, and decided they’d found exactly what they wanted.
A Pre-wedding visit to experience the destination, the resort or hotel is highly recommended. Some venues even have a program allowing a one or two night complimentary visit, site tour and planning meeting.
Many hotels and resorts also offer a special bridal package which sometimes might include items like a complimentary cake, flower arrangement, banquet room and even a honeymoon suite at no charge for the bride and groom with a certain number of condominiums or hotel rooms booked for friends and family.
Check with the group sales department, reservations department, concierge or wedding planner for each venue you are considering and ask what offers they may extend and how much value you will receive for your dollars spent. Always consult a professional when preparing for a destination wedding either through the services of an independent planner or an “in-house” wedding coordinator.
Someone with expert knowledge of the location and great relationships with local vendors can help provide every detail and pull it off without even the slightest bump in the process. Well, almost any event planner will tell you; “there are bumps in carrying out any event…but a true professional will identify issues and find a creative solution to remedy the situation quickly where everyone in attendance will see only a hugely successful, joyful event”. The most important thing in almost any wedding planning process is to minimize the stress and maximize the pleasure of the entire experience from the first visit and consideration of the location, through the return home from the honeymoon.
The couple was amazed at how a team in Latin America, who never previously had any contact with East Indian culture, stepped right in, were happy to assist with every unusual detail and never were flustered by even a fleeting thought, of not being able to deliver every wish .
This well-traveled bride, grew up in Costa Rica and still has family in the country so she knows first hand all the wonders that Costa Rica and Latin America have to offer. She knew this was the perfect place to bond their relationship and blend the two, vastly different cultures she calls her own.
Once the plans were made they flew from their home in Boston and after a few days in the city it was time to head west toward the Pacific coast to Los Sueños to begin the elaborate 3 day celebration.
The group arrived at Los Suenos Resort, checked in with the CR Luxury Diamond Concierge Team and the family met with their personal “in-house” wedding coordinator who immediately put them at ease ahd had every detail covered. Next stop….AAAAhhhhhhhh!
The bride said” Once everyone arrived and checked into their luxury condominiums, everyone was so relaxed…..I think this set a great mood for the entire trip right away.”
It was November 26th, the day before Thanksgiving family did not want to miss that tradition either. The CR Luxury Concierge ordered a full Thanksgiving Dinner that was delivered to the family at their condominium.
This was another great example of the blending of cultures…An American Celebration, enjoyed by an East Indian family across the street from the rainforest, in Costa Rica! This just goes to show what a warm welcome can be found for all cultures in this little Latin American paradise!
The bride also tells us that the luxury condominiums were “such a great decision”. They all enjoyed a beautiful, spacious home that allowed everyone to be comfortable and gather together several times and enjoy each other’s company as a family and as a group. She also told us that they were impressed at how the units are so well kept. She said that the time shared and closeness would not have been possible if they were all staying in a luxury hotel.
Arrangements were made for the first ceremonial events…the ladies participated in a ritual called Mehndi and they flew in a special Henna artist from Toronto for the event while the family men gathered for drinks at sunset and enjoyed a memorable time.
The next event called Sangeet, began almost immediately afterward…poolside at the private, Los Sueños Beach Club.
Just another example of blending of the scenery of this Latin American paradise and rich East Indian culture.
The Sangeet event began with drinks and appetizers, being served.
While the guests were sipping and dining, there were dance and musical performances, the Newlywed Game and an open mic for speeches from friends.
Then came the wedding day and it was spectacular right from the start!
In a more typical setting the family and guests of the groom would proceed together fully costumed and decorated to the home of the bride for the wedding ceremony. For this creative couple, there was an exciting twist!
With the groom’s dressed in formal East Indian wedding attire, he mounts a horse and the group of family and guests begin the colorful procession, called Baraat winding through the Los Sueños resort toward the Beach Club for Milni where the bride’s family greets the groom’s for the ritual exchange of garlands.
The wedding couple were married on a stage with floral alter specially designed and built right here in Costa Rica of wood with a steel bowl for a special fire just for this particular ceremony.
A tented beachfront reception, decorated in linens and ribbon of white, gold and green followed the ceremony. Drinks and appetizers were served as well as a fantastic, authentic dinner catered by the family’s favorite restaurant East Indian restaurant from San Jose.
This lovely bride commented that every task and request, no matter how unique, strange or unconventional, from a horse for the groom’s procession to a specially built stage and alter was possible due to the “can do” attitude of the CR Luxury Diamond Concierge team.
The beach, rainforest covered mountains, outdoor venues, spacious luxury accommodations and the oceanfront views allowed this modern, young couple to create a very personalized, unique series of events which blended their rich East Indianheritage with their love for the beach and the tropics for a spicy Latin twist!
This was an example of just one couple’s unique creative dream wedding.
Never let your wedding dreams have limits…reach for the sky…right here in Costa Rica!

One of the most common venues for wedding receptions is the hotel. It is easy to see why. At hotels you have staff who are used to serving large quantities of people, and the venue is usually of a suitable quality to entertain a large gathering. Hotels are professional, efficient and large. This does not mean, however, that they are all the same.
Choosing a hotel for your reception is simple if you follow some basic guidelines. These are centred on what is needed at a wedding reception so, if in doubt; just ask yourself what you want the reception to be like. If a hotel looks like it cannot accommodate you on this, then it probably isnt the right one for your wedding reception.
For example, once you know roughly how many people will be attending your big event, then this should sharpen your search for a hotel considerably. If there are hundreds of people coming you will need a venue that can accommodate a large number of people, both with regards to eating and drinking, as well as having a dance floor that is large enough. So you hit the larger hotels first to get a feel for room size. Staff at these hotels should be able to give you a clear guideline as regards the size of the groups they can hold.
Due to the fact that it is a hotel, there is every chance that there will be a caterer on site that the hotel uses for such occasions. This is all well and good but check out customer feedback (they should be able to supply you with this) and even ask to eat at the hotel restaurant. This way you will know whether or not the meal is to your tastes. Then, make sure that caterers know about any special dietary requirements your guests may have.
When it comes to the decorations, if your family or indeed future spouse want to decorate the reception room in a certain way (many people do this nowadays to give their reception some personality) then make sure you check with any venues you are considering. Some have clear restrictions as to what can be done to the space. It would be awful, for example, to turn up on the morning of the reception to find that you cant hang banners.
Perhaps most vital when it comes to choosing hotels is that you know just how busy they get. Depending on which day your reception is going to be on, you need to know if they have another booked for the same day.
You must allow at least two hours for your reception. Do what most couples do if you can, and book the venue for the afternoon into the evening. This way you can enjoy the special day to the full. Check licensing too, so your guests arent stuck with a dry bar at eleven oclock at night.
Common sense, and knowing what you want, should help you choose your venue for the reception. Remember, preparation is vital. If you dont take your time over planning, there could be a reception you wont forget, but for the wrong reasons.

Las Vegas a is a very popular place for couples to get married, especially couples in America. If the couple is getting grief about being together or getting married then they usually plan to elope to Las Vegas and have a wedding there. They are quick weddings and all you need is two people there to witness the wedding, you don’t need to be dressed up or anything, but you can be! You can have a glamorous wedding at one of the top hotels in Las Vegas if you have a lot of money behind you, the smaller weddings are usually performed at what is like a drive through wedding service.
Las Vegas is casino central in America, they have the large flashing lights, the nude ladies dancing and the lights that take your breath away… Las Vegas is a marriage hot spot.
A Las Vegas wedding is somewhat controversial, some people call it cheesy others call it class. You can get anything in America fast food, fast drinks and now a fast wedding, parlours are all over Las Vegas where you can quickly pop in and a minister or a court official will make your marriage legal and that is that, for a small fee of course.
Then there is the great weddings that take place in hotels like the Plaza. These weddings cost a fortune and an arm and a leg to buy and they are very, very worth it. A Las Vegas wedding with a white stunning gown, hundreds of flowers and the man or woman of your dreams has got to be one of the biggest wedding fantasies, you then spend a night in the honeymoon suite together and enjoy the rest of your honeymoon by visiting the sights and sounds of Las Vegas.
Can you just image standing in front of hundreds of guests wearing a long elegant white dress holding the most stunning bouquet of flowers you have ever seen, then walking towards the man of dreams down a plush red carpet and all your guests staring at you, the lights from the chandelier hitting of your diamond earrings and necklace, welcome to Las Vegas!
After the most special wedding rites at the church, garden, or anywhere you decided to say your vows, it is already time to celebrate the beginning of a lifelong journey of love between the newly wedded couple. Since this is sure to become a night of partying and long celebrations, the wedding reception venue should be the perfect place to have fun and relax at the same time. Here are some things to consider in choosing your wedding reception.
Choose a venue that is near the venue of the wedding. By near, that should mean at least 15-30 minutes travel time from the church or whatever wedding location to the wedding reception. This would ensure that the guests would all arrive on time and this would be very convenient for them too. If you are saving up on your expenses, you can try holding the wedding and the reception in the same venue, such as holding it in a hotel. There are packages for this so you can inquire about it.
You should also try starting the reception about an hour after the wedding rites. While the guests are waiting for the meal to be served, appetizers and fruit punch can be offered around so that guests can also have time to socialize.
Couples should have a prepared budget for the wedding reception. Most of the time, the reception is the one that costs the most among all the aspects of the wedding. However, this can be lessened by finding wedding receptions that do not just have the most affordable offers but that which gives the most value for your money. Hotels are usually the best wedding receptions because they have package offers for weddings which include all your needs for the reception like the cake, food, drinks, decorations, entertainment and sound system, and the like. Plus, there are some hotels that also include in their packages accommodation for the newlyweds. Scout for the best packages that hotels offer for weddings.
In finding the perfect wedding venue, the number of guests really matter. Make sure to make a headcount of the guests you are expecting and if possible, make a seating arrangement per table so that every guest has his or her designated place and no one will run out of seats. The wedding planner, photographers, makeup artists or stylists and band members if there are any, should be included in your guest list. Also, check if after the set-up and all the decorations are in place, the venue will still be able to seat all of your guests. Check the place before officially renting it as your wedding reception.
Finally, make sure that that the personnel of the wedding reception venue offers good service. Ask friends or other people you know about their own weddings and where they held their reception. Feedback from other people can help in your decision-making. You can also sense from your initial meeting with the manager whether or not the group can deliver in bringing you the best service for your reception. Look for the group that can best handle your needs and that which can give you a hassle-free wedding reception.

For the local population Maltese weddings are considered a big affair. A lot of hours and thought is given to make sure that the big day is impeccable. Typically, weddings in Malta are rather traditional. They begin with a wedding mass in a local church, attended by family and close friends of the happy couple, who are often followed by an entourage of brides maids and grooms men. Upon leaving the church, the guests proceed to another venue for the party. This usually takes the form of a cocktail reception, followed by dancing till the early hours of the morning or a grand gala dinner, at which the guests are seated at spectacularly dressed tables. Mid-way, it is often the duty of the best man to present a speech (usually a rather embarrassing one for the couple!) which is followed by the cutting of the wedding cake. It is common place that the wedding cake is made as a tradition almond or fruit cake. Towards the end of the evening, the newly-weds change into what are known as ‘going-away outfits’ and are carried out on the shoulders of their friends to prepare for their honeymoon!
When planning a wedding, the bride and groom hope for perfection all the way. From the dress to the catering, Maltese local vendors strive for excellence at all costs to provide a dream wedding. A crucial factor in any wedding is the venue. Due to the bright summer sun, May, June and September are high seasons for weddings in Malta. But with an array of top outdoor and indoor Malta venues one’s wedding can be perfect, rain or shine!
Every year, a large wedding fair takes place in Malta that caters for all elements desired in a typical Malta wedding; such as bridal cars, entertainment, catering, bridal dresses, men’s attire, venue and so on. Furthermore, some of the leading Malta Hotels use their wedding expertise to hold their own exclusive Wedding Open-Weekends, which allow couples to stroll through their magnificent suites, each prepared to the highest detail for any sort of wedding. They also have an on-site wedding support team which will be with you through every step of the way.

If you’re getting married overseas, there are a few extra considerations when it comes to looking good. It’s time to start planning your ‘princess for the day’ look!
Your wedding attire
there are two main considerations when planning your outfit for a wedding abroad. You need to find something that you will be comfortable wearing, especially if you’re getting married in the sunshine, and you also need to choose something that you can transport relatively easily.
If the temperature on your wedding day is likely to be very cool, a ‘floaty’ beach dress probably isn’t the perfect choice. Look for something that will suit the environment – more of a traditional ball gown-style-wedding gown, for example. Equally, consider accessories such as shoes. Pretty beach sandals aren’t the thing for walking around the castle grounds. Instead consider a high heel shoe.
What you wear for your wedding is entirely up to you and there are no real dress rules if you are marrying in the grounds of your hotel. However, if you have arranged for a religious service in a chapel or church you will most likely be expected to respect local custom and cover your head and shoulders. Also in some Eastern countries, such as Thailand there is a specific dress code. Your wedding coordinator or the relevant embassy will advise you.
Transporting and caring for your outfits
when you choose your perfect dress, speak to the designer or store about how best to transport it. It may pack well with plenty of tissue paper, or could be better kept in a dress bag.
Check with your airline for advice on transporting your wedding outfits. Some recommend that they should be boxed or packed into separate suitcases. They will then be placed into the hold. Others suggest that you use suit carriers and, space permitting, they will be hung in the cabin of the aircraft. Outfits can always be carried as hand luggage but this will restrict you to keeping the rest of your hand luggage to a minimum.
As soon as you arrive at your hotel, unpack your wedding outfits and hang them up. A warm and humid tropical climate should allow creases to fall out naturally. However, your hotel or your wedding coordinator can normally arrange for your outfits to be steamed if necessary. Alternatively, hang clothes in a steam-filled bathroom, which will help the creases drop out.
Hair and beauty
Hair and beauty treatments can be arranged when you arrive at your hotel, or you might even decide to book things before you arrive. If your hotel does not have these facilities, ask whether there is somewhere you can visit nearby. For total peace of mind, practice styling your own hair and make-up before setting off.
You’re likely to want to have a healthy tan on your wedding day, but basking in the sun before the wedding isn’t a good idea. As well as damaging your skin, you run the risk of looking more like a lobster than a sun-kissed bride. Pace your sunbathing on the run-up to your wedding or help nature along with a good quality fake tan. If you’re doing your own fake tan, be sure to practise well in advance.
